Testaments of the Twelve Patriarchs

1The Testament of Zebulun — On Compassion and Mercy. 2The copy of the words of Zebulun, which he enjoined on his sons in the hundred and fourteenth and fourteenth year of his life, two years after the death of Joseph. 3Now therefore I tell you these things, my children, that ye also work compassion towards every man with a good heart. For the Lord showeth mercy to him who showeth mercy. 4I was the sixth son born to Jacob, and beloved of my father. My mother Leah said: This is a great gift to me, for he was born; and she called me Zebulun. 5I have not knowingly committed sin all my days, except in thought. Nor yet do I remember that I have done any iniquity, save the sin of ignorance which I committed against Joseph. 6And after these things shall the Lord Himself, the light of righteousness, shine upon you, and you shall return to your own land. And ye shall see Him in Jerusalem, for His name's sake.
